Step by step one world traveler has trekked more than 800 miles over the past few months to explore the U.S. – Mexico border.

With a tent and just a few supplies in tow, Bredt Bredthauer made the trip from Brownsville all the way to El Paso. He visited detention centers and spent time with immigrants along the way.

 

Living Laredo

We caught up with Bredt Bredthauer and his associate at the famous Rialto Hotel in Downtown Laredo. In this interview he shares what he feels makes Laredo a very unique and beautiful border city compared to all the others he's toured.

Bredt Bredthauer started walking in early February from Boca Chica and is currently in Mission. Along the way he is learning about life along the border and gathering interviews and information. All the information he gathers will be used by students of UT Dallas attending American studies course with a focus on Texas
